The Subs are Back

By Darlene (with apologies to The Angels)

They went away but we hung around
Watching the still water
We were super patient, too
Finally we got our reward.

The subs are back, gonna ride 'em on the double
(Oh yeah, oh yeah, the subs are back)
I thought another Pixar ride would just be trouble
(Oh yeah, oh yeah, the subs are back)
The old ride was 'bout Nemo, too
(Oh yeah, oh yeah, the subs are back)
So I guess the new one will do.

Oh yeah, oh yeah, the subs are back
No more hiding what your plan is
Or teasin' us about Atlantis.

They'd been gone for such a long time
(Oh yeah, oh yeah, the subs are back)
The World's turned to Pooh -- what a crime
(Oh yeah, oh yeah, the subs are back)
There's motion in the ocean like there was before
(Oh yeah, oh yeah, the subs are back)
Tomorrowland don't look dead no more
(Oh yeah, oh yeah, the subs are back)

Hey, I couldn't wait to ride it
I cried when I got inside it.

The new effects are a treat for the eyes
(Woohoo, woohoo)
Now we get to see what a good budget buys
(Woohoo, woohoo)

John Lassiter's gonna get a reputation
(Oh yeah, oh yeah, the subs are back)
For knowing what folks really want on their vacation
(Oh yeah, oh yeah, the subs are back)

Yeah, the subs are back
(Oh yeah, the subs are back)
Too bad that the mermaids aren't back
(Oh yeah, the subs are back)
All the subs are runnin'
(Oh yeah, the subs are back)
Inside jokes and subtle punnin'
(Oh yeah, the subs are back)
All Nemo
(Oh yeah, the subs are back)
Gonna find that fish
(Oh yeah, the subs are back)
The subs are back now
(Oh yeah, the subs are back)

Notes

A parody of "My Boyfriend's Back" (obviously). The only line I wish we'd spent more time on is the one about the WDW Pooh ride -- people keep misunderstanding it. We were thrilled to be invited to play this song at the media-covered opening celebration for the attraction! (And equally peeved when we found out the invitation was a joke from some Internet weenie.)
